Blue's Clues Hosts Reunite for Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Song

At 2021's Macy's Day Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Blue's Clues float saw the reunion of hosts Steve Burns, Donovan Patton as Joe and Blue's Clues and You! host Josh Dela Cruz.

The trio gathered on the giant Blue float for a heart-warming song. The performance has sent audiences of both the 1996 series and its 2019 revival flooding social media with affection.

This year sees the celebration of 25 years of the Blue's Clues children's franchise. Between 1996 and 2002, Steve Burns hosted the show. Over the years, Burns has explained that he felt it was the right time to depart the series. Executive producer Traci Paige Johnson explained in the past that it was never Burns' intention to become a children's show host. The Primetime Emmy Award-winning host was replaced by Donovan Patton, who played Joe until 2006 when Blue's Clues ended, replaced by the spinoff series, Blue's Room.

In 2019, Nickelodeon premiered the revival series, Blue's Clues and You!, hosted by Josh Dela Cruz, introduced as Steve and Joe's cousin. Many of the characters from the original series appear, including the former hosts, who have reoccurring roles on the show. In addition, Burns appeared for a short clip on Nick Jr. addressing the now-adult audiences of Blue's Clues. In it, he addressed the hardships that both he and the audience have had to overcome, including debt, family issues and more. He then assured viewers that he never forgot them.
